Peacock Available - Cable TV X1 Service Only

We kept our Comcast DVR and cable service and now get internet elsewhere.

When I tried to go to apps, peacock, it says you need Comcast internet service for this feature.

Am I reading this proviso wrong on the feature page?  We've got most premium channels, two DVR's etc.

Eligible X1 TV Box required. Service not available without Xfinity Internet or subscription to Digital Starter TV equivalent or above.

Because the apps use the internet (why they’re called internet apps), if you don’t have Comcast internet you won’t have access to those apps. The apps use data and can’t be charged to another provider, so you lost access when you switched. Just like what you posted

Then the word “or” should be “and.”

I guess it depends on where you got your information. From

https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/peacock-app-faqs

Why can’t I access the Peacock app on my X1 TV Box?
If you don’t see Peacock content on your X1 TV Box, please verify that you:
-Have a compatible X1 TV Box (RNG150 and Pace XG1v1 devices aren’t supported).
-Have Xfinity Internet services (any level).

Hi @LeeSoFL

We appreciate you for using the Forum to get assistance with your X1 issues. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and misunderstanding that may have been caused. @CCAndrew is correct. In order for you to be able to access programs available through the Peacock app, you would need to have an active Xfinity internet connection due to data usage and billing. If you'd like to discuss making the necessary changes to your internet service, I'd be happy to discuss your options with you.

Please send me a private message including your first and last name and the numbers associated with your service address. To send me a private message, click on "ComcastChe" and then click send a message.

I'm glad you forum people self-answered my question and marked it as such:

https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/X1/Peacock-Available-Cable-TV-X1-Service-Only/m-p/3351900#M190776

But all the ads for Peacock keep saying IF YOU HAVE X1 SERVICE YOU'RE ENTITLED TO GET PREMIUM AT NO MONTHLY COST.

On my Sony televisions, I'm able to download the Peacock App and access the service.  I have AT&T Internet as my provider and still spend $100 a month on X1 DVR and cable television.  So, what you're saying about it being an internet service is a whole lot of who-shot-john!  Your ads say:

Service not available without Xfinity Internet OR subscription to Digital Starter TV, or equivalent, or above.

GET PEACOCK PREMIUM WITH X1 AT NO EXTRA COST.
