an actual human to speak to

My bill suddenly increased by over 54% with no warning, and no change. I need to know why!!! I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford that kind of random increase in rate. I need to speak to a human. I have spent over half an hour trying to find a way to get through to one. I am so tired of Bot Blocking! Can someone help me get through to an actual human agent to find out why my rate has gone up so dramatically?

Hello user_wcv7xg, I can certainly understand the concern if your bill did increase. I am a consumer as well, so sticking with a budget is important to me. You have reached the right place, and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.

When I began my internet service a year ago August, I was given a rate of $35 per month. In August it went up to $54, which is over a 50% increase. Nobody said anything about my rate being introductory, or changing in any way. So why did my rate go so high? I am on a fixed income. I cannot afford that kind of increase. Is there an option for a lower rate. I have been happy with my service, but if I cannot get a better rate, I am considering going to another company.

Thank you,

Pangaea
