Delayed Receipt of Bill

The latest bill arrived in the mail today on January 2. Payment is due January 4? How about sending the bill earlier so payment can arrive on time??? I already pushed the scheduled due date a year or so ago because of this same issue with the bill arriving a few days before the due date! I better not see a late charge on my next bill.

Thank you for reaching out and creating a new post. I hope you are doing great today. I see your bill arrives later than expected and typically a couple of days before the due date. I can certainly see how this could cause some frustration. That said, we can do our best to help. The Xfinity App also has the option to set up alerts which notificy you about your new bill, or you can also view your bill online once it's generated before it arrives in the mail in most cases. Has this been happening for all your previous statements as well?

Yes, typically I have been receiving my bill with less than a week until the due date, which is ridiculous. Receiving it two days before the due date is even more ridiculous. I mail my payment the day after I receive my bill. Sometimes, luckily, the check is received and processed in time; other times it gets processed a day or two late. This time, however, I'm sure my check will not be received and processed until the middle or end of next week...if I'm lucky. I know I can look up what is due, and I do. In fact, I made out my check a few days ago while I was paying my other monthly bills and was just waiting for the payment stub and envelope to send my check. ...and no, I'm not going to set up autopay or pay online with a credit card.

That makes sense, and we understand the hesitation to use online payment methods if you aren't used to them. That said, you are also able to use our automated system to make a one-time payment as well.  We do provide the option to store payment data, but this isn't required.  Regarding late fees, this only occurs if the balance due is left unpaid by the time new charges are generated. There are exceptions for this, as if you generally have a good payment history the system may not charge this right away on the first off bill.

Thanks for your response. However, back to my original question. How about sending the bill earlier so payment arrives on time? I looked back, and my check for the latest bill is dated December 23 (which is when I paid my other monthly bills), so I knew at that point how much it was going to be. Had the bill gone out in a timely fashion, I would have received it earlier than January 2, even factoring in the holidays.

Great question, Paula47 - Your statement contains all your billing information in a simplified, easy-to-read format and is available to view and pay at any time by signing in to your account.

On page 1 on the bill the billing Date shows toward the top. The billing date at the top of the bill refers to the date your bill was printed. If you prefer to receive the bill by mail, it may take some time to receive it. Holidays may also cause paper mail delays. Paperless billing lets you view and pay your bill online. Instead of a monthly paper bill, you'll get an email with your amount due, due date listed and a link to your account where you can view your bill statement. Benefits of paperless billing include:

- It's hassle-free: You'll receive your monthly bill by email, and you can sign up to get a reminder when your bill is ready to view online and when your payment due date is approaching.
- It's convenient: You can view your full monthly bill anytime, on any device, and pay easily with your account. You'll be able to access all your bills from the last 24 months.
- It's green: Reduce clutter, save stamps, and help the environment.
- It's secure: You'll access your secure billing and account information by logging in to your account.

You can sign up for paperless billing through your account online using the link below.

Did you know you can also move your bill's monthly due date

Please…didn’t you read my response that I don’t want to pay my bill online? Also, as I said previously, I did move my monthly due date a year or so ago because of this same issue with the bill being received with only a few days before payment was due. Instead of correcting the issue by sending the bill with more of a lead time for payment, the bill is still sent late without any lead time. I knew how much was due on December 23 when I checked my account, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the amount due was available before that. Comcast’s Billing Department needs to be more prompt in mailing out their bills to give customers enough time to pay.

I am in communication with the Mass. Dept. of Telecommunications and Cable (DTC [Edited: "Solicitation"]) about the same problem.

You will talk/complain to Comcast until your blue in the face and only get the run around and double talk and their continually blaming of the Post Office. [Edited: "Solicitation"]
