Explain My Billing Statement

To Whom It May Concern,

I switched to a different internet order recently and wanted to know if the additional partial charges resulting in a decreased bill than expected is normal during a switch. Also, the sales tax on my billing statement further decreased my bill instead of adding to it. Is there a reason for this?

Sincerely,

Xfinity Customer

Good evening @user_vbjemt, and thank you for reaching out on our Community Forums with your billing questions, we appreciate it. We do bill in advance for services so when you make a plan change and enter a new promotion, any applicable prorated credits for that change get applied to the next month's statement. Does that make sense?

Thank you for your explanation on the prorated credits, but I’m not sure why it is a one-time application that doesn’t get carried to the following months. Also, I still don’t understand why the sales tax was a positive total, unless the prorated credits were applied to that/a part of them.

user_vbjemt I would need to look at your specific account to break it down better and see what you mean with the sales tax. If you'd like us to take a look send us a direct message with your full name and the service address.
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.
