Jan 2025 Target & Xfinity scam

I called Xfinity using the phone #  on their bills. An agent answered. I proceeded to ask why my bill went up $40 bucks. He said he has 2 options to lower my bill. Option 1. Purchase $1,440 dollars in Targets cards and my bill will be $120 for 2 years. Or option 2 , do nothing and my bill remains at $301.90 a month. I told him I’m not purchasing any target cards. He then proceeded to say I was going to be charged $300 for not doing it. I hung up. This is ridiculous that Xfinity doesn’t warn their customers about this scam. Also, they have scammers working for them at their helpdesk. Why can’t Xfinity track down these calls and charge their workers with crimes? I know why because Xfinity has No power over workers in India.

It wasn’t a chat, it was an actual phone call!  I was speaking with a live person on the phone!
