Maneesh & Mohammad Signed me up for Xfinity Mobile Lines AGAINST MY PERMISSION
I set up Xfinity Internet 2 weeks ago with a new house I just purchased. I was told the installation would be free. I saw that I was charged for it so I went to Xfinity's website and opened the customer service chat window.
The chat representative Maneesh was helpful to fix the installation for me but then he began pushing the $1300 promotion onto me. When I told him I wanted to find out more information about it he began sending me forms to fill out with my social and my credit card information. I explicitly explained to him I did NOT want to switch from T-Mobile to Xfinity until I was ready. He kept reassuring me that I needed to fill these forms out to find out more information. I asked him if my phone would be eligible for the full amount of the promotion if I traded it in, he said fill this form out first asking for my social. I asked him what the coverage was like compared to T-Mobile, he sent me the credit card authorization form and said to fill that out first.
I kept stopping him and telling him, “Look, this looks like you're trying to set me up, I do not want to be setup with Xfinity Mobile yet." They said don't worry nothing is official yet. When I asked if there was any promotion for my family members if I signed them up he asked for their IMEI and added them without my permission as well.
When he finally sent me the last link that asked me to confirm my order I refused to sign it. I told him this is not what I want and I threatened to file a complaint against him. I got a message on my phone to switch my phone number over to Xfinity. I told him I did not authorize him to do this. I asked him to remove the phone lines from my account immediately.
I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. The person I was transferred to was named Mohammed. This person told me in order to cancel the lines that were created for me and my family against my permission I had to submit the order that was created so that I could then have them cancelled. I did not like this response and decided to call in. The person on the phone ended up telling me the same thing, that unfortunately since the order was created I had to submit the order to cancel the order.
The whole point was I wanted to wait until the iPhone Duo came out to get that trade-in. I just wanted to know what the offer was for the 18 Pro just in case my family would be eligible, and I wanted to know what the promotion was for the 18 pro for myself to weigh the pro's and con's. I never wanted to set up phone lines at any point. I kept getting reassured by Maneesh that I wasn't being setup with new phone lines and that he could answer my questions after I filled out the forms he was giving me (social, cc info, IMEI, etc).
So now I'm calling Xfinity mobile ready to switch my phone over since you have the iPhone Duo promotion and they are telling me I am no longer eligible because I am not a new Xfinity mobile member because transferring my phone number now wouldn't qualify as a new line anymore. I'm being told the only way to get the iPhone Duo promotion is to give up my phone number entirely, trade in my phone also, and get an entirely new phone number, just to qualify for the promotion OR they can give me $200 towards the new iPhone duo and I can keep my original phone number. That is ridiculous!
First off, don't lose sight of the fact that I was signed up for 3 phone lines against my permission on Oct 3. That in and of itself is a huge problem and Maneesh needs to be fired for this. Second, I now now longer qualify for a promotion that I otherwise would have qualified for if this hadn't happened.
I am filing a complaint with the FCC (Number Portability Issue, "Cramming" / Unauthorized charge) and the BBB in 24 hours with photo evidence of my chats with Maneesh and Mohammed. I also have audio recordings of all the people I spoke on the phone with if this issue is not resolved.

Hi Linky360, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention here on the community forums. I'm truly sorry for the experience you've had getting services to your new home, and I can only imagine how upsetting it must have been being signed up for our mobile service after explicitly telling the agent you didn't want to make the switch. Our team would be more than happy to see what can be done to help, and ensure the interaction on 10/3 is reported. Please send a direct message our way with your full name, name on the account (if different), and service address, and we'll get started.
