Need to verify contact info

When I try to add a new payment method it says I need to verify my contact info even though it’s already been verified.

@user_japrku Thanks for working with us. It looks like we were able to work together and determine the issue was due to the login credentials. In the event you need help in the future, please author a new post. Thanks for your time and have a great day!

@user_japrku Hello and good evening. Thanks for adding a post. We appreciate it, and are happy you thought of us to assist. We have the best tools, just like the Xfinity Assistant. It is the best resource to manage the account and service online when we are not available. It is my favorite as I can check the service health, and also reboot the wifi for dinner time. That ensures the kids come to eat, and that makes me very happy. Here is a link that I found for you to make it easy to use https://www.xfinity.com/xfinityassistant/. After clicking Add Payment Method, you’ll need to confirm your identity by entering a six-digit code sent to a trusted contact method before proceeding. I found the steps for you to add a registered phone or email here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/comcast-text-alerts. That will allow you to receive a security code as the account owner, in order to confirm it is you.

This was not helpful. My phone number is already in the account and it still says it needs to verify to add a payment method. Something is wrong on the back end of my account that needs attention.

@user_japrku Thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it and know this is important. Entering a code to add the payment method is required. After clicking the link to add a payment method, you’ll need to confirm your identity by entering a six-digit code. It says so on this guide: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/my-account-app-manage-stored-payments. You can proceed with the Xfinity app if you prefer. That will skip having you enter a code, the instructions for that are also in the guide.

It does not allow me to enter a code. When I click “add new payment method” it says

You can't add a new payment method yet

We need to verify your contact information to keep your account secure. Make sure to add your phone number and email address if you haven't already.

The problem is that I have already updated my phone number and email address. Something is wrong on the back end of the account and I need to get in contact with someone who can access my account possibly someone on the coding side.

Thanks for those details, user_japrku. Here is a link with the details to update your account information, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/update-account-preferences. Are you using the website or the app? Have you tried logging out of the website and then logging back in? What device are you using to access the website or app?

I have tried both the website and app. I have tried logging out and back in as well as clearing browser history. I have accessed the site on iPhone, MacBook, and PC. My phone number and email are already in the system so I can’t update something that’s already there.
