Overbilling
On 7/7/26, I terminated Xfinity internet service started on 6/14/26 due to a number of service issues. I signed up for 1g service with upload speeds up to 100mbps. My uploads were consistently between 70 to 80 mbps which was inadequate for my 4k outdoor cameras so on 6/19/26, I upgraded to 2g service with upload speeds up to 300 mbps. I still only got upload speeds between 70 to 80mbps. After numerous chats and calls with tech support a tech was sent out that I was told I would NOT be billed for on 6/30/26, and he told me that he removed a line block that prevented me from getting the advertised upload speeds that came with the 2g download. The next morning, 7/1/26, my internet went down completely. When I called tech support, I was told the issue was not in my home, but with the broadband signal coming to my home and a technician was scheduled between 1pm and 3pm the next day, 7/2/26. That tech never showed although I chatted and called several times as I was completely down. I was told the tech was running late and would be here at 4:30pm. It was after 5pm before I was told the appointment would have to be rescheduled and the earliest would be Monday, 7/6/26, so I requested a call back from a manager. I got a call after 6pm from someone at Xfinity identifying himself as a manager and stated there was nothing he could do about the 7/6/26 earliest available tech service date, however, he would see that there was no charge for it. After being completely down with no internet from 7/1 to 7/6, the tech came and determined that the modem/gateway just needed to be swapped out. I was livid!! I was down without internet from Wednesday to Monday afternoon (over a holiday weekend) when I could have gone to the Xfinity store, swapped out the modem/gateway myself and had 30 minutes to an hour down time instead of 5 days! I cancelled Xfinity the next day. When I saw the final invoice for $112.95, I spent 40 minutes on the phone with an agent (identified himself as Chris), explaining that the bill showed a credit for the Self-install Plus ($43.89) that I agreed to when I signed up. What should have been removed was the $100 + tax fee that I was promised wouldn’t be charged. The total pro-rated amount of my bill should be 5 days of 1g = $10.23 + 14 days of 2g = $44.98 + $43.69 for a total of $99.10. However, I made a payment on 7/5/26 of $45.09 … so the balance should be $54.01, not $112.95. Please advise.

Thank you for taking the time to lay all of this out. We understand why this has been frustrating, especially with the upload speed concerns, the missed appointment, the service interruption from 7/1 through 7/6, and the final bill not matching what you were expecting.
Since this involves specific billing, prorated service dates, prior payment history, and a technician charge you were advised would not apply, we would need to review the account details directly before confirming any adjustment. We do not want to guess or give another answer that does not line up with the final billing.
