Payment method changed

My checking account was defined as my payment method in my account for years. This month when I went to pay my checking account info was gone and my payment method was changed to the credit card I had defined for my xfinity mobile. I keep getting the runaround and finger pointing. I have bank statements proving that payments had been initiated from the xfinity side using the checking account in question, but they are denying making any changes to my account and I absolutely KNOW that I did not deleted it. Has anyone else experienced this issue

user_wih774 Thank you for reaching out! That is a really odd situation, since Xfinity Residential service, and Xfinity Mobile service have difference billing systems. However, you can access both systems from the Xfinity app, or online portal yet they don't share billing information since it's separate.

MartyR, I agree, those are two different lines of business and should NOT be linked. However when I tried deleting the credit card after redefining my checking account info it said "You cannot delete this card because it's the autopay method for your mobile account."  I visited an Xfinity store and they had the same problem and quoted item 2 from your 'stored payment methods terms and conditions.'

"If you have any other accounts with Comcast that are linked by your user ID, email address or other user credentials, you understand by storing the Stored Payment Method on your ‘Bill and payment preferences’ on a Comcast account, your Stored Payment Method will appear as a Stored Payment Method on the Comcast linked account. Use of your Stored Payment Method on the linked Comcast account is subject to these terms and conditions."

Regardless of that statement Xfinity should NOT arbitrarily change my preferred method without my permission when I've paid my bill on time every month for more than 20 years. I can't get any answers as to when and why my checking account info was removed from my payment profile

We apologize for any confusion and if better expectations were not set.

Since the mobile has to be set up under the credit/ Debit card,  that linked your credit card with your residential account since it's one Xfinity account linked with the same user name.

You would not be able to delete it from the Xfinity app, but what you can do is go into your residential billing and add your checking account as a stored payment and then you can use the checking account  to pay your residential billing

That does NOT explain why my checking account was deleted. I had that as my preferred payment method. Xfinity does not get to choose HOW my bill is paid I DO.

I have a similar situation.  My payment was reversed, and I don't recognize the checking account number.  It changed since mid-December.  I didn't change it.

I also got a scam call (a couple of days ago) from someone claiming to be Xfinity, with a too-good-to-be-true offer, so I'm updating all my credentials with Xfinity.

Now if only the 2FA would work!
