Why are they wasting money?
The "AI" powered chatbot is absolutely useless. Nothing a few clicks the user can't accomplish on their own in less than a minute... that is if the web portal worked. I cannot access the webportal to pay my bill. It starts to load, then asks me if I'm still there and pushes me to log out. I have cleared cookies, preferences, all data in my browser and tried on multiple devices... It's on xfinity's end. They waste their money on engineers that use dogwater github chatbots and pass them off as their own work instead of maintaining web portal functionality. It's a joke that the chat assistant loads in a nano second.. but the payment portal just sits on a blank loading screen until they want to log me out for inactivity(often in under a minute).

To send a direct message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
