Why did my bill go from 35 to 74 out of nowhere

I was paying ~$35 a month for internet and all of a sudden I'm paying $74 a month, and was never properly alerted to any changes of my account or plan. My plan also says 59, yet I'm still being billed 74 and it doesn't make sense. I am kind of frustrated I can't get any answers from the customer service chat, and no explanation and I may just cancel my service.

Hello, @user_35pxrq thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I completely understand the shock when a billing has increases, and you're not aware. From experience this increase sounds more than likely due to a promotion roll off. We do have promotion periods outlined on statements under the regular monthly charges section when on one, and when promotions are set to expire we typically have notification on page one 2-3 billing cycles before it's set to expire.

Can you see this information when logging into your account and comparing the previous statement to the current: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/view-xfinity-billing-history

The $59 may be the monthly internet rate, if you're using our Xfinity gateway the $25 is more than likely coming from xFi complete which is the modem lease, unlimited data, and xFi advanced security. I've seen that was included free for 2 years on a lot of previous promotions, our new promotions have the equipment fees included.

- Do you see a charge for xFi Complete on the statement?

The same happened to me. I was paying $35,  Xfinity said the promotion I was under expired; they said they were putting me under a new promotion for $45, then I get billed $75!

Good morning @user_8izasb, and thanks for posting your issue to the Xfinity forums, I hope this message finds you well. I am sorry to hear about the billing issue, but you have come to the right place to get this resolved. It is possible that depending on when your plan was changed, the reason you were billed more is that we bill a month in advance, and you were billed for the old plan. If your plan was changed after the billing date on the current bill, what you will see is a prorated credit on the following bill for the plan difference.
