xfinity assistant chat asked for my SS number and credit card to reduce my bill is this a scam?

this is the language from the chat. i am concerned:

You can be assured that the details you have provided are perfectly secure, and Xfinity is fully focused on the security of customer information.

I see that this offer includes a new mobile device. To get this offer, the information was required. Furthermore, I see that a card was requested to save for the one-time taxes and mobile payment using the secured link.

I would like to share that this is only requested this once, and it will not affect the existing payment method for your internet account.

why are they asking for a new payment method or my SS? Should I be worried?
