"Your Xfinity payment is due today" - but $0.00 is due

My Xfinity Internet payment is due on 12/5 and was paid from my checking account on 11/26, the Xfinity billing page shows "$93.00 processed on Nov 26".

I received a "Just a reminder: your payment is due soon" email on 11/30, and on 12/5 (today) another email "Your Xfinity payment is due today". Your billing page shows $0.00 is due.

Can you please check what's going on and is my internet going to be shut off for owing $0.00?

Thanks,

- Don

@dhd002 Thanks for making a post. Your account should not be at risk of being shut off. Our system will send out a payment reminder for the billing cycle even if the balance is $0, and you paid early. If you would like us to confirm your $93.00 payment was properly posted we would be happy to check on that for you.

Hi XfinityMatthew,

Appreciate the quick reply. I've been a customer for over 20 years and have never received these emails before. Logging in to my main Xfinity account shows it was paid but I wouldn't mind if you could confirm it was properly posted?

Thanks,

- Don

@dhd002 I've also just run into that same problem:

  • 1/20 - per Xfinity website billing page, my payment was processed, bringing my account balance to $0.00
  • 2/2 - received e-mail from Xfinity w/ subject line "Just a reminder - your payment is due soon", & message body including "We know life gets busy sometimes, so we wanted to give you a quick reminder that your payment due date is coming up on 02/07/2026".  I first double-checked my payment records, saw that sent electronically - then thought to check Xfinity website, only to find they posted my payment in full on 1/20, leaving $0.00 balance due.
  • today 2/7 - received e-mail from Xfinity w/ subject line "Your Xfinity payment is due today", and message body including "This is a reminder that your Xfinity payment of 88.95 for your account ending in is due today".  So I once again checked Xfinity website, again confirming they posted my payment in full on 1/20, leaving $0.00 balance due.

The idea that Xfinity's system would send payment reminder e-mails to customers whose balance has already posted as being paid in full is ... well, to put it mildly ... more than just surprising - particularly since it implies an actual balance still due and urgency for customer to pay ASAP. I would hope that Xfinity would take a closer look, so that in the future they'd avoid sending "false alarm" e-mails to their customers.

I'm the OP and the same "false alarm" emails showed up again this month. These emails are annoying, especially the one that says "Your Xfinity payment is due today" when they received it 10 days prior. For my internet, I have my bank send them the funds electronically.

I later ported my cell phone number to Xfinity Mobile and they require that I allow them to bill my credit card directly. On the day they bill for the Mobile service, I receive an Xfinity email from xfinity@account.xfinity.com with the subject "Thanks for your payment". The annoying and inaccurate emails for my Internet service come from online.communications@alerts.comcast.net , it would be nice if the script to generate these emails could verify the payment status first.

I am having the same issue too. My App says I am paid in full. Online it says I am paid in full. The Xfinity rep online said my account is paid in full. So, why do I keep getting text messages and emails telling me a payment is due? I pay my account the day I get the bill for the next cycle.

Hello @TripleGGG1959, thanks for your comment. You may continue to receive text messages and emails about payment due because these notifications are sent to remind you of important billing information, even if you pay promptly. I appreciate you confirming that the app, website, and online agent all show your account as paid, so you won’t receive any late fees. However, the reminders may continue for a short time. Usually, those messages include a note saying If you've already made a payment, it can take time for payments to process.
