Are we losing YES Network now that they are joining with MSG to form Gotham?

Does anyone know if YES network is now going away since they joined with MSG to form Gotham? In the old YES network app (like the old MSG app when we had it) there was a way to sign in with your cable provider. But now with the new Gotham app, there is no option for sign in with Xfinity even for the Yankees and YES network. I reached out to Gotham and got a response that Xfinity is not a provider but I should reach out to Xfinity if I want YES and MSG. I am really hoping we are not going to lose YES network too as losing all local sports may be too much to keep subscribing.

I called the Gotham Sports app yesterday. All, but Comcast has changed to the new app.

It still can be free. You still have to use your E-mail and password to sign just like with the Yes app. But Comcast has to talk

to Gotham. They do not know about the change. Most or all, the others cable companies and Direct Tv

have signed up so far but not Comcast.

Hey there, user_bm2211, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding the YES Network. Our content teams are constantly working to bring you the best and widest variety of programming possible. In some cases, certain factors such as licensing or contract agreements prevent us from carrying particular television episodes, series, apps, or even channels.

We’re always evaluating what we offer as our customer’s needs change, so this content may become available in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If we already pay for YES Network and MSG we should be able to access the "NEW" Gotham app online through our cable provider. They should keep the YES Network availble to us until they figure out the licensing of the merger.

That is the problem, you can't access on the gothdom app because Comcast doesn't let you have access to where you can

tap on the gothdom icon on their app. All other providers you can. Not Comcast.

I should be able to get YES streaming free on the Gotham app with my Comcast Xfinity subscription and pay the P:previous MSG+ $29.99 monthly fee out of my pocket to add MSG that  Xfinty refuses to provide. For some reason i don’t think it will work like that and Xfitity customer will be forced to double dip at $41.99  $22 more for YES if they want MSG too.

DanASBNJ You should be able to sign in to the YES Network using your Xfinity user ID. https://watchyesnetwork.com/
Unfortunately, we don't have any information about accessing the Gotham app at this time.

@XfinityMartyR when you click on the yes app, you are directed to got them Sports. As of today December 22nd 2024 Xfinity is not listed as a TV provider. This is unfair to the Yes Network fans that want to watch the Nets and the Yankees and the MSG fans that want to watch the Rangers the Islanders and the devils. If we had access to the Yes Network through the cable provider why can't it automatically give us access on the Gotham sports app. We should have to be forced to pay for a subscription to the Gotham sports app.

@XfinityDena to Xfinity comcast, stop feeding us that powered rear for you say you worked out the customers. You do not. If you did we would have had access to the Gotham Sports app a long time ago. I don't see what the problem is, we used to have the Yes Network so why can't you just transfer that to the Gotham Sports app so we could still watch the Yankees and the Nets if you want and also bring back MSG also. We shouldn't have to pay a subscription to watch our New York local teams when we were getting them for free through Xfinity Comcast. Get on the ball.

When will Comcast customers have access to the Gotham app? We had access to the YES app. We should have access to the Gotham app as well. This seems quite unfair, and Comast seems to be acting like this is news to them when all the other major providers are available and were aware.

MaybeOptimum/Altice can finally twist MSG ‘s owner James Dolan Into offering the exact thing, he said he wanted when he owned Optimum/Cablevision When he could not make a deal with YES For Yankees in games in 2002. Allow both Xfinity and optimum customer who want MSG and other RSN  channel to pay a bit extra for them.

You can have the Gotham app. But you have to pay. Optimum / Altice you will have to pay until

MSG and Optimum agree on a solution. But Comcast will never bring back MSG. At Leat for now

We can still watch on our cable system. Then we will be in the same boat and have to pay for

everything and finally have one e-mail to use.

I don’t think Comcast understands the problem. Here it is again. Last year the YES app transitioned to the Gotham Sports app.  Prior to the transition we could use the YES app for free by identifying Comcast as our TV provider.  After the transition Gotham Sports app does not have Comcast as a supported TV provider so one would have to pay several hundred dollar to use the Gotham Sports app. Of course, this is an outrage.

It is absurd that Comcast, one of the largest cable providers in New Jersey is not supported by Gotham.

As the 2025 baseball season draws near Comcast needs to immediately work with Gotham management to get this issue resolved.

i have addressed this issue with both Gotham and YES and was told to contact Comcast.

Please get this done. Since Comcast is the only cable system on Long Beach Island I have no alternative.

Thank you.

I just called and updated my account with xfinity and told them I only want a plan that has access to YES. They locked me into a one year agreement and now I can’t get YES because it changed to GOTHAM.

This is absolute criminal behavior. You're stealing from your customers by letting this problem linger this long without resolution.

I already have major reservations about your shoddy service and horrible customer service. Unfortunately, I have no other options where I live.

After 20+ years you are still finding ways to make me think so much less of you.

You've been granted a monopoly and you know it. That's what allows you to continue to treat your customers like garbage and get away with it.

This is not the first time you've pulled a stunt like this. For what you charge, this should have been taken care of and should work flawlessly by now.

Perhaps a class action lawsuit against Comcast, Yes, and Gotham sports app is required.

Fix this issue and stop stealing from your customers.
