Are we losing YES Network now that they are joining with MSG to form Gotham?

Does anyone know if YES network is now going away since they joined with MSG to form Gotham? In the old YES network app (like the old MSG app when we had it) there was a way to sign in with your cable provider. But now with the new Gotham app, there is no option for sign in with Xfinity even for the Yankees and YES network. I reached out to Gotham and got a response that Xfinity is not a provider but I should reach out to Xfinity if I want YES and MSG. I am really hoping we are not going to lose YES network too as losing all local sports may be too much to keep subscribing.

I called the Gotham Sports app yesterday. All, but Comcast has changed to the new app.

It still can be free. You still have to use your E-mail and password to sign just like with the Yes app. But Comcast has to talk

to Gotham. They do not know about the change. Most or all, the others cable companies and Direct Tv

have signed up so far but not Comcast.

Hey there, user_bm2211, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding the YES Network. Our content teams are constantly working to bring you the best and widest variety of programming possible. In some cases, certain factors such as licensing or contract agreements prevent us from carrying particular television episodes, series, apps, or even channels.

We’re always evaluating what we offer as our customer’s needs change, so this content may become available in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If we already pay for YES Network and MSG we should be able to access the "NEW" Gotham app online through our cable provider. They should keep the YES Network availble to us until they figure out the licensing of the merger.

That is the problem, you can't access on the gothdom app because Comcast doesn't let you have access to where you can

tap on the gothdom icon on their app. All other providers you can. Not Comcast.

I have never heard of a cable company that does not allow you to watch anything on the go. im currently an on campus college student so I can't I cant watch the game at my house and this wouldn't be an issue but [Edited: "Inflammatory"] is a bunch of cheap [Edited: "Language"] and doesn't want to pay extra money to add there services to a streaming service they have been [Edited: "Language"] over their customers for the last 10 years charge the most give the least and make it so you cant watch on the Go even if your paying for the [Edited: "Language"] channel at home [Edited: "Language"] this company they have till MARCH 27 to fix this or they will lose a customer I left them for direct TV when they dropped the YES network years ago and will do it again I hope some Yankees fans will join me cause these [Edited: "Language"] won't listen to just 1 customer unfortunately [Edited: "Inflammatory"] has higher-ups that will probably not do a [Edited: "Language"] thing about this so looks like I will be joining A different provider on that date and why is it that they always [Edited: "Language"] around with the Yes network and never NESN or SNY its cause they hate the Yankees and it shows. [Edited: "Language/Inflammatory"] all though they belong somewhere far worse

@XfinityJeniece what’s with Xfinity. First you won’t carry MSG, then you won’t sign up with Gotham. Now you are planning to drop themYES network. Good job on trying to eliminate all New York sports. Xfinity is high priced with poor customer service. You are on the road to losing all of your New York/New Jersey sports customer base.

I should be able to get YES streaming free on the Gotham app with my Comcast Xfinity subscription and pay the P:previous MSG+ $29.99 monthly fee out of my pocket to add MSG that  Xfinty refuses to provide. For some reason i don’t think it will work like that and Xfitity customer will be forced to double dip at $41.99  $22 more for YES if they want MSG too.

DanASBNJ You should be able to sign in to the YES Network using your Xfinity user ID. https://watchyesnetwork.com/
Unfortunately, we don't have any information about accessing the Gotham app at this time.

@XfinityMartyR when you click on the yes app, you are directed to got them Sports. As of today December 22nd 2024 Xfinity is not listed as a TV provider. This is unfair to the Yes Network fans that want to watch the Nets and the Yankees and the MSG fans that want to watch the Rangers the Islanders and the devils. If we had access to the Yes Network through the cable provider why can't it automatically give us access on the Gotham sports app. We should have to be forced to pay for a subscription to the Gotham sports app.

@XfinityDena to Xfinity comcast, stop feeding us that powered rear for you say you worked out the customers. You do not. If you did we would have had access to the Gotham Sports app a long time ago. I don't see what the problem is, we used to have the Yes Network so why can't you just transfer that to the Gotham Sports app so we could still watch the Yankees and the Nets if you want and also bring back MSG also. We shouldn't have to pay a subscription to watch our New York local teams when we were getting them for free through Xfinity Comcast. Get on the ball.

When will Comcast customers have access to the Gotham app? We had access to the YES app. We should have access to the Gotham app as well. This seems quite unfair, and Comast seems to be acting like this is news to them when all the other major providers are available and were aware.

MaybeOptimum/Altice can finally twist MSG ‘s owner James Dolan Into offering the exact thing, he said he wanted when he owned Optimum/Cablevision When he could not make a deal with YES For Yankees in games in 2002. Allow both Xfinity and optimum customer who want MSG and other RSN  channel to pay a bit extra for them.

You can have the Gotham app. But you have to pay. Optimum / Altice you will have to pay until

MSG and Optimum agree on a solution. But Comcast will never bring back MSG. At Leat for now

We can still watch on our cable system. Then we will be in the same boat and have to pay for

everything and finally have one e-mail to use.

I don’t think Comcast understands the problem. Here it is again. Last year the YES app transitioned to the Gotham Sports app.  Prior to the transition we could use the YES app for free by identifying Comcast as our TV provider.  After the transition Gotham Sports app does not have Comcast as a supported TV provider so one would have to pay several hundred dollar to use the Gotham Sports app. Of course, this is an outrage.

It is absurd that Comcast, one of the largest cable providers in New Jersey is not supported by Gotham.

As the 2025 baseball season draws near Comcast needs to immediately work with Gotham management to get this issue resolved.

i have addressed this issue with both Gotham and YES and was told to contact Comcast.

Please get this done. Since Comcast is the only cable system on Long Beach Island I have no alternative.

Thank you.

I just called and updated my account with xfinity and told them I only want a plan that has access to YES. They locked me into a one year agreement and now I can’t get YES because it changed to GOTHAM.

This is absolute criminal behavior. You're stealing from your customers by letting this problem linger this long without resolution.

I already have major reservations about your shoddy service and horrible customer service. Unfortunately, I have no other options where I live.

After 20+ years you are still finding ways to make me think so much less of you.

You've been granted a monopoly and you know it. That's what allows you to continue to treat your customers like garbage and get away with it.

This is not the first time you've pulled a stunt like this. For what you charge, this should have been taken care of and should work flawlessly by now.

Perhaps a class action lawsuit against Comcast, Yes, and Gotham sports app is required.

Fix this issue and stop stealing from your customers.

Hi user _b 7 you can still watch yes through your cable package but you may have to upgrade to a more expensive package to watch the yes channel. I am just like you and have the same problem you have to pay to see the Yankees extra only on the Gotham sports app.Comcast Xfinity doesn’t want to have an agreement with Gotham sports App it would solve all the problems and everybody would benefit from it.

By the way, Xfinity.    Optimum/Altice  now has a new to deal with MSG where they don’t have to put MSG on the lower tears where the little old ladies complain about sports raising their bill. You should look into getting the same deal done and getting MSG back on for us who are willing to pay for it And are tired of paying $29 a month with the Gotham Sports app It would still be far cheaper for MSG to be restored to the higher Xfinity tears and those customers getting access to MSG and Yes for free This on the Gotham Sports app. Also work on gettin SNY Streamingaccess Out of home for your customers.

@DanASBNJ We don't have access to Gotham Sports and I have missed too many spring games as it it. The season starts next week

Here we are 2 weeks since my post above and....

Nothing.

It's still spring training so, some probably don't care all that much.

Come opening day, that will change. Currently, there is no way to watch yes unless you're watching through a cable box or on your home network.

Unacceptable Comcast. This is not 1990. People expect more for the enormous fees we pay.

Don't reply with an apology, fix the [Edited: "Language"] problem. Stop stealing from people.

xfinity customer should be able to stream both YES and SNY out of the house like every other cable company and with MSG in near bankruptcy and infusion of cash from Comcast probably would Mr. Dolan a lot more flexible on his deal.

Time to cancel my high speed Internet service and cable and switch to DirecTV so that my family can watch the Yankees. It’s not like they’ve lowered the monthly cost for losing this channel. I’m not going to continue not being able to watch the games!

Here we are, less than 2 weeks from opening day and Comcast has done nothing in regard to this. There have been multiple threads here about yes and this Gotham app nonsense going back months and no changes have been made to rectify the situation.

As far as I'm concerned, you're offering an incomplete service. How much will you refund your customers to make up for the inconvenience of your incompetence and lack of any care regarding the service you provide for them?

Will you be cutting the regional sports fees in half since you're only offering half the service that people expect regarding them in the modern viewing age?

There's no excuse for this.

The only reason is greed and a lack of caring about your customer base.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your frustration and disappointment with our service. Your experience is very important to us, and I want to address your concerns thoroughly.

First, thank you for being an Xfinity customer. We value your loyalty and want to ensure you feel appreciated and well cared for.

Regarding the issues you've mentioned:

  1. Service Incompleteness: I understand how crucial it is to have reliable and complete service, especially with the upcoming opening day. Could you please provide more details about the specific problems you're facing with the Gotham app and any other service issues? This will help me escalate the matter to the appropriate team for a prompt resolution.

  2. Refunds and Regional Sports Fees: The Regional Sports Network Fee is based on the costs of providing regional sports networks, which can vary by region. If you're experiencing incomplete service, we can certainly review your account.

Spare me this nonsense. If you read the conversation here you will realize that your response is wholly ignorant of what's being said.

Your questions were answered in the posts you were supposedly responding to.

It is even worse for you now that Comcast is threatening to drop Yes tonight at midnight .

It goes so far beyond the Gotham app now.

That class action lawsuit looks better & better.

Nice editing of user posts btw.

Since Comcast isn't signing on with Gotham Sports and I have no other option such as Fios. I am canceling TV and go with [Edited: Soliciting]. THE ONLY REASON I STILL HAVE CABLE TV WAS FOR ACCESS TO THE YES NETWORK.

Sadly, Comcast will probably have to settle with MSG before they have any Authorization on the Gotham Sports app even for YES Which they do carry. It may be noted that ComcastXfinity has never Offered the streaming options for SNY

there would be the NBC Sports app SNY app or now the MLB app Or at least if you wanna double dip, you can now pay for it out to your own pocket.

Apologies are useless, James Dolon realized the mistake he made back in 2002 when he refused to add the Yes Network, once people cancel your service getting them back is next to impossible, you will end up shooting yourself in the foot big time with this stupidity.

I’m furious that Comcast has not resolved this issue and offered the Gotham app . I refuse to go the entire baseball season and not be able to stream Yankee games, especially given the hefty bill I pay them every month . One of the only reasons I stayed was because of the YES channel . It’s definitely time to cancel all cable and go strictly streaming.

TIME TO CORD CUT CABLE FOR EVER NOW

It feels like Comcast pulls this every few years. If they drop YES or refuse to sign on with Gotham Sports App I'm DONE with this company.

It's CHEAPER to DROP CABLE.

You can pick and choose anything you want to watch and drop it in a month, and get more deals on streaming services.

It's cheaper to buy Gotham Sports than it is to put up with this [Edited: Language] every year.

Do the people that need to see posts like this ever actually look at or monitor them? My monthly bill recently went up to $345 and it looks like I'll be getting less! Unreal!!!!!!!!!! But I have access to 50 useless Music Choice Channels.
