CHSN

Why can't we watch this channel on Xfinity? Explain why money has to always be at the forefront. With the cost of cable being what it is

user_w1es8e NBC Sports Chicago notified Comcast and others that it was ceasing operations on September 30, 2024. This decision is outside of Comcast’s control and was solely made by NBC Sports Chicago.

The Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago White Sox who were previously available on NBC Sports Chicago now air on a new RSN called Chicago Sports Network (CHSN). At this time, CHSN and its over-the-air antenna channels 62.2 and 62.3 aren't available on Xfinity. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Don't assume that it is entirely Comcast's fault. For all we know, whoever owns CHSN is demanding that it be put on a more widely available package, which means the price on that package would go up to cover the cost - and no, Comcast is not going to "pay for it out of its own pocket as it can more than afford it"; it cannot afford to do that everywhere.

According to news reports, CHSN already agreed to be moved to the upper tier:    Google

CHSN has reportedly agreed to shifting to the Ultimate tier — a premium channel package that costs subscribers an additional $20 per month — but the two sides have yet to come to terms on the carriage fee.   Dec 19, 2024

Until then Xfinity should lower the RSN fee.$20 for one channel is outrageous.
