FETV

Very upset that FETV 1095 has been eliminated. Loved watching the line up in the evening before bed.  Emergency and Adam 12 were my favorites. I enjoyed other classics that were offered on this channel. Because of the loss of FETV I am starting to search for different cable provider in South Central PA who carries FETV. Not sure if I will continue with Xfinity.

@efr5 Welcome to our community forum! Thank you for reaching out so we can make sure you can watch your favorite programs when you wind down at the end of the day. Recently, FETV moved from a single-definition (SD) channel to high-definition (HD) channel. This is not due to any programming agreement negotiations and you still have access as long as you have compatible equipment.

What equipment are you using when you try to watch that channel? Is it a cable box you rent from us, Xfinity Stream app on your Smart TV, third-party streaming device, etc?

First, There was no advance notification in our recent bill or on your website that this was happening, i.e. that  we need to subscribe to HD (which  I think is  $10.00 more a month) to get this station. . Also, As more  and more TV stations go to HD only, shouldn't  XFINITY re-think the HD additional cost? In essence we are not now getting all the channels we signed up for unless we pay an additional HD cost.

@XfinityEmilyB

I am using 2 HD boxes (rented from Comcast) - and paying the additional cost - and FETV is not on any HD channel or any other channel.

Please advise.

Hello @RMFJM,
Sounds like you have been around a while because you are aware of the $9.95 fee that used to be charged to have access to HD. This is no longer the case on our newer plans, and as long as you have a compatible TV box you can watch all HD channels. Although, I will mention that day one of the channel transitioning to HD there were some backend errors that our engineers had to clean up, but at this time things should be working well. Our goal is to always provide the best viewing experience for our customers, and with the newer advancements in technology there has never been a better time to take advantage of upgrading that experience. I understand that this is a channel that you favor heavily, and I would love to make sure that you have access to it. Please send me a direct message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to review the options available to you.

- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Hello @Airwolf100. I know change can be very frustrating, but we do still have FETV as an HD channel. We can look at options for your account to help you get this channel. Would you like an account review?

My TiVos with cable cards receive plenty of he channels.  How does fetv changing to HD stop this from working?

Cable cards can support HD channels, but with TiVo, your device needs to be MPEG-4 compatible. If it is not, that will cause problems when trying to get the HD channels.

user_orex5t Thanks for reaching out! I apologize for any inconvenience or miscommunication. The Family Entertainment TV (FETV) is still available, however it requires an Xfinity X1 TV Box. You can swap your current TV Box for an HD-compatible TV Box for free. However, your TV does need to be a HD capable TV.

Been looking for 1095. Can’t get it. And I have. HD. Also my mom has a cheaper plan with less channels.  And she still gets 1095! I think I’ll switch to hers and pay a lot less !

It is a shame that Xfinity opted keep on many garbage channels that nobody watches instead of one good channel like FETV 1095 that many more of us watch

and is included in our plans, then even taken away without any warning. I've been a long-time customer of Xfinity/Comcast and things have really changed over the years. Too bad.

Hello user_hetciy! FETV recently transitioned moved from a standard-definition channel to high-definition channel. As long as you are subscribed to the channel, have X1 equipment, and are subscribed to HD programming, then you can view the channel as normal with upgrade picture quality! Do you know if you are currently using X1 equipment in your home?

If FETV is in my plan I should be subscribed to it, which I am. I never needed X1 equipment before May 2nd 2025, and always got it, so why now should I have to pay more for something I already have? This doesn't make sense. The channel had a perfect picture as it was w/o changing things. And what is this now that you have to be subscribed to HD too?

In this case, since FETV is no longer supporting or offering the SD version of their channel, the HD version would be the only accessible option. While HD programming could require a specific charge on your account to be active, it's also common for it to be baked into service packages. And if all you're needing is X1 equipment to get going, our X1 upgrades comes at no additional equipment cost and can bet setup for you any time!

To view your equipment, and it's upgrade eligibility, please check out this link here https://xfinity.com/equipmentupdate.

This link is only showing TWO of my current boxes, but I have a THIRD box that I just replaced and have to return the old box to the Xfinity store because it didn't make any difference in picking up this channel.  Is that why the third box is not showing in this link?
