Fox Weather being removed

OK. Yea I have the Choice TV (Basic Channel) plan.

First they removed The Weather Channel.

Now this.

"TV Update: Effective June 25, 2025, WFLD-Fox Weather will no longer be
available with Xfinity. Fox Weather HD is available on channel 1108 with an
X1 Box and Digital Starter, Popular TV, or the Sports & News genre pack. HD
Technology Fee may be required."

It can not be that expensive to keep some channels where they are.

They should reduce the price every time they remove a channel and not replace it with something

similar.

Good thing for Smart TV's.

I can still get weather Local (though on a side bar) and National.

jl747 Hey there. This is based on how much each local station charges Xfinity to keep certain channels. If the cost is too high, we include those channels with higher cable packages.

How much can it be???  The cheapest 'package' I've been able to manage is still over $ 100./month.  Xfinity in a hurricane state should make it a public service to retain - for the lower income population - any and ALL weather broadcasts available!  And to announce it in April (I didn't GET a notice, I had to go searching when Channel 215 'died' this week) when one always reviews changes in big-budget items when the annual 'price change' (ALWAYS an increase!) once at year is a real dis-courtesy to long-time customers.  :(  I wouldn't have cable at all if not for my elderly mother's wishes for certain channels.  We'd already reviewed options when the price increase happened...can't Xfinity 'afford' to do cost-based changes just once a year?  Dreadful....sad...

user_2bu7aq Good morning! Thank you for the feedback. We try and keep our services as cost effective as possible. Sometimes the contracts with the broadcast network can change from time to time which doesn't align with our annual review in pricing. Keeping services within a certain budget is important to households these days. I'd be happy to review over your account, and see if we have some options that may be a bit more budget friendly. If you would like to look into some options, please send a Direct Message with your name, and service address.
