Paramount Plus

I have Paramount Plus as part of my bundle with Xfinity and can view it with my X1 remote, but I don't seem to able to access it with a Paramount Plus app? Is that just not possible? Xfinity does not show up on Paramount Plus in their provider list to validate subscritpion.

Greetings, @rsible! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about your Paramount Plus subscription. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

There are currently two different versions of Paramount Plus available, so your access may be different, depending on which one you have. The standard version allows streaming of network shows, movies, and original series through your X1 box or Xfinity Stream app, while the premium version includes the full Paramount+ with SHOWTIME On Demand library, eight live SHOWTIME channels, and is commercial-free.

The Paramount Plus app is a little different. As you mentioned, we do not have a provider affiliation with the app that is based on your service package. If you added on Paramount Plus as an additional subscription that was not part of your service package, it would have had you create a username and password to access it through the Paramount Plus app. This can sometimes be the same as your username and password for the Xfinity Stream app, but not always. It never hurts to check, just in case.

I have paramount + with Showtime as a bundle but when I go to watch a show such as Landman they are charging $2.99 for each episode. Before I have to call them I’d thought I’d ask if this is normal?

The cable channel is what used to be called Showtime. It shares a few shows with the Paramount+ Streaming App, but one is a cable channel and one is a streaming service.

Having Paramount+ with Showtime on Xfinity does not give you access to the streaming service.

So, how do I access shows on Paramount+? Whenever I try to do so, I’m prompted with a login screen that doesn’t accept any of my credentials. My bill clearly states Paramount+!

Hi there, @SteveR405! You can find an informative FAQ about Paramount + here : https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/paramount-plus-app

Do you have Paramount+ or Paramount + with Showtime?

Thanks for confirming, @SteveR405! There are distinctions between these 2 services:

Paramount+ is a streaming service that offers a variety of shows and movies, including original series and live CBS programming. To access it, you need a compatible streaming device, Xfinity Internet, and a Paramount+ subscription.

Paramount+ with Showtime, however, is a subscription option that includes Showtime content.

In short, to access the Paramount + app, you need a stand-alone Paramount + subscription. What you are subscribed to, does not include app access.
