ShopLC is a subscription channel?

Xfinity carries a number shopping channels including ShopLC which is on channel 1067 in the Seattle area. What is interesting is when you tune to the channel there is a message that says that you have to subscribe to that channel. I have not seen that requirement for any other shopping channel. Is this requirement to subscribe coming from ShopLC or Xfinity.

What is also interesting is that channel 1067 is a leased access channel which I believe means that ShopLC has to buy time on that channel so that Xfinity carries their network. So maybe ShopLC wants viewers to subscribe to get some of the money back that they are paying Xfinity.

seattle4sports Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I also want to thank you for letting us know about the message you saw on channel 1067 (ShopLC) and we appreciate you reaching out to us. That message probably came from ShopLC themselves. You see, channels like ShopLC sometimes lease airtime from us to broadcast their programs. This means they pay us to be on our channel lineup. Sometimes, channels like ShopLC may show messages encouraging viewers to subscribe to their services.

However, you don't need a separate subscription from Xfinity to watch channel 1067. If you have our basic TV package and channel 1067 is included, you should be able to watch it without any extra charges.

If you're still having trouble watching channel 1067, please let us know:

  • When the issue happened (date and time)
  • What the message actually said

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We want to make sure you enjoy watching your favorite channels!
