Significant delays when watching live TV

Hi.  There isn’t much that’s more frustrating than watching a baseball game and seeing the live action three pitches (or about 45-60 seconds) behind the actual action.

When the time on my X1 box hits the top of the hour, we’re still a good 40 seconds or so on the end of the preceding program.

Is the issue that you’re transmitting an internet stream of the channels instead of the actual broadcasts?

It's not just live events. Both CNN and Fox News are consistently about a minute behind; this becomes quite noticeable on New Year's Eve.

I think it's caused by the nature of the buffer - the ability to "rewind" and watch something again that aired up to an hour ago - but I'm not entirely sure.

(You think Xfinity is bad? Try listening to SiriusXM streaming.)

MSNBC too.

There may be something to your theory, but if someone from the company has some insight as to whether it can be corrected, please chime in.
