This answer will determine how FAST I cancel Xfinity TV

Would NOT play on the Xfinity App on my devices

It kept telling me I needed to log on wifi! When I am on WIFI for all other applications, working Tried on my Phone and tried on FireStick same message! Guess it only works on Xfinity Internet, and that should be reported to the FCC

some channels are restricted to only be available on your home wifi for xfinity stream.;

i suggest you contact newsmax to see why this is the case

newsmax wants you to subscribe to newsmax+ to watch it on your phone or on the go. Your issue is with them. I suggest you reach out to that channel and inquire about their blatant money grab

As of current information, Newsmax is not directly restricting who can watch on Xfinity, but due to recent cable agreements, it may require a subscription to access Newsmax content on Xfinity platforms, meaning viewers might need a specific package to watch the channel.
Key points to consider:
  • Subscription requirement:
    Some cable providers, including potentially Xfinity, may require a specific package or add-on to access Newsmax, which could be seen as a form of restriction.
  • No direct control by Newsmax:
    While Newsmax might negotiate with providers on channel availability, they typically don't have direct control over who can watch on a specific platform like Xfinity.

That makes no sense. If it's available on Xfinity, they should correct it! My brother, who has YouT... doesn't have to dance around for a channel to be played on the stream. Comcast is on thin ICE for the price I am PAYING with no satisfaction on quality. Since they downgraded Cable boxes to view 720p instead of 1080, since everyone has 65-plus inch TV's now

Rickt19621 I appreciate your posting on our Forums. It is correct that some channels require being connected to an Xfinity WiFi network to be able to stream online or through the Xfinity Stream app. This link can provide more information and near the bottom would advise the streaming requirements.

YEP, come to FIND out paying for Xfinity Cable TV channels, and you also get Xfinity to GO channels on the app. Xfinity wants to [Edit: Inflammatory] from you to receive NewsMax by only having an Xfinity Internet plan. The other channels work! There has to be some law being broken by the FCC when you selectively and conveniently make that channel unavailable unless YOU PAY for the SLOW upload speed Comcast has! I have 1000/1000 and you have NO PLAN that can support 1000 upload speed. In today's environment, using 4K video live upload speed, you cannot handle the bandwidth.

@Rickt19621

this is a comcast "community" message board that is loosely monitored/moderated by "Xfinity employees" - this is NOT a comcast customer service board.

for fastest service, I would direct you to a local service center, or if that is not possible, to call that telephone number

Thank you

@westwayneguy88888 Did you not read what

XfinityThomasD

Said? It is TRUE you can NOT receive that ONE channel if you don't have Xfinity Internet to stream off the APP! All the other cable channels can be viewed outside of Xfinity Internet on other providers, even Peacock! Just that ONE channel that I pay for on the Xfinity Cable TV package is limited! I already informed the FCC of this malicious practice of extortion.
