What exactly does the "Regional Sports Fee" cover?

I'm in the Chicago area and I'm currently paying $19.20 a month for the "Regional Sports Fee".

Currently we cannot watch the Blackhawks, Bulls, or White Sox on Xfinity because CHSN isn't available.

The Cubs are on Marquee and I think it's in the $9.99 More Sports & Ent Pkg?

The Bears are on broadcast TV so I would think that should be included in the $25.65 Broadcast TV Fee.

What exactly does this cover?

user_kj102a Thanks for posting on our Forums. The Regional Sports Network Fee (RSN) is something that is listed as an itemized charge based on the cost to provide sports on multiple networks. There are additional TV packages to help customize the channel availability, but those fees would still apply to any lineups that would offer sports networks.

That's a non-answer.

You wrote, "The Regional Sports Network Fee (RSN) is something that is listed as an itemized charge based on the cost to provide sports on multiple networks."

In Chicago, which networks do you mean? What specifically does the $19.20 pay for?

user_0a4087, I don't have a way to tell you exactly what is included, however; the Regional Sports Fee does vary by region. Essentially it covers the regional sports networks in your area. Were there specific networks or other billing concerns I could help with?

If Xfinity is not providing coverage for Regional Sports - Bulls, Blackhawks and Sox - will they be removing the Regional Sports Fee Charged monthly  subscribers?  Crazy to think they can charge for a service not provided

Is Xfinity going to credit is subscribers in the Chicago market for the monthly Regional Sports Fee - There is no regional Sports coverage and it is insane that they continue t charge customers for a service not provided?  It should Las not be expected that consumers have t call in and request a credit for this fee!!!

[Edited: "Solicitation"]; honestly, I am so disappointed in Xfinity.  We had been loyal customers for decades.  Multiple decades.  Xfinity's lack of communication during the Chicago Regional Sports rollout was alarming.  I understand that Xfinity needed to meet and discuss before rolling out a plan for their customers; however, having us jump through hoops buying, assembling, and mounting antennas, etc, to watch Chicago sports, was deplorable on their part.

Xfinity, Please escalate this as users in Chicago are being charged for something that Xfinity cannot provide. Your response "charge based on the cost to provide sports on multiple networks. There are additional TV packages to help customize the channel availability, but those fees would still apply to any lineups that would offer sports networks." is not an answer. As the others have stated, what RSN channels are you proving for us to watch the local teams? Us as users need to stand together on this and demand refund since it ended.
