Wliw world

Channel 1155 is supposed to be wliw world. But your guide is not listing the programming for that channel. It's almost like your listing the programming for NHK world, the Japanese News channel, but that channel has its accurate programming in the guide. The programming in the guide for liw World is NHK programs but not the same as what's actually being broadcast on NHK at that moment. I believe the problem is both channels have the word world in them.

Hey there, thanks for calling this out. That’s a really sharp observation, and we can see why that would be confusing.

It does sound like the guide data for WLIW World (channel 1155) may be mismatched and pulling in programming from NHK World instead of what’s actually airing. Since the channel itself is working but the guide info isn’t lining up, this is likely an issue with how the listings are mapped on the back end.

Let’s try a quick refresh on your end just to rule out anything local:

  • Restart your TV box (unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in)
  • Once it’s back up, check the guide again for channel 1155

If it’s still showing the wrong programming after that, let us know. We can report this to our guide/data team so they can correct the listing. You shouldn’t have to guess what’s on, so we’ll make sure it gets in front of the right folks.

Appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

Thank you. Actually by the next day it had corrected itself or whatever. But I have another related question.

1) Is liw a high def channel.

2) if it is, why doesn't it record that way on my dvr? I'm not speaking about the picture quality as much as I'm speaking about the aspect ratio. When you watch the recording on the DVR you need to use your television remote to switch to 4:3, the dimension of standard def. If you don't do that the image is stretched out to fill your screen and everything is distorted.

3) if it is NOT high def, why does it display as 16:9 when you watch your recording  on the Xfinity app on an iPad?

Thanks again

LIW world channel 267 or 1155 beginning on April 1 has reverted back to NHK news programming on the guide. Please get this corrected. This is my one source for the BBC world on my cable package. I really don’t care if I’m the only Customer, you have watching this. I’m paying for LIW world and I want to be able to record any program on it. It is too bad. I cannot record a channel at a certain time, then it would not matter what the guide said because I would be recording a time not a program.

This is becoming quite absurd. I don't know if I'm supposed to comment publicly or if I'm supposed to send a message but what's the point? There's nothing about my issue that can be resolved by resetting the box! Just attend to your guide. And answer my questions about wliw being 4:3 or 16:9. Why are recordings on the DVR 16:9 when viewing on the iPad but 4:3 when watching a recording on the dvr? This is a technical question. And if you don't know the answer tell me how to contact someone who does!

Hello @user_6qsf7n, I completely understand the confusion. The only reason we invite you into the DM is, so we can safely verify your account and access the information needed to help. Since channel lineups vary by location, we need to look at your specific account to give you an accurate answer.
