9/19 - Widespread neighborhood outage, Chicago, 60608

All neighbors over several blocks near Oakley Ave and Coulter st have been experiencing intermittent drops over the last 48 hours.  The modems may appear function and pass the tests but nearly all services fail to connect.  It’s sporadic.  Services will fail but restore on its own.  Its currently down.

Xfinity support won’t acknowledge this as a widespread outage even after our neighboring users continue to report the issue.  Some of us have tech appointments but not until next week.

This needs to be treated with priority and urgency. It’s not only

impacting residential customers but businesses as well.

Agreed this has severely disrupted my ability to work from home. For the most expensive service provider in the area, the lack of sense of urgency in remediating this widespread issues for their customers is unacceptable. If xfinity expects to keep customers, they need to fix this, the intermittent issues have been ongoing for months with no solutions offered.

I spoke to an Xfinity technician with my appointment this morning.  They stated there’s work going on a few blocks south of our neighborhood to add fiber to the network.  This work includes cutting into our neighborhood lines which causes outages.

The work is estimated to last another 2 weeks with continuous outages.

I understand the need for improvement but don’t disconnect neighborhoods in the middle of the day.  Plus, the notices we get for brief outages state it’s only for a few hours.  There’s been no communication of this ongoing work for the next 2 weeks.

Does Xfinity realize the impact this is causing?  Do better Xfinity, this is pathetic
