Access to my bank information?

I got an email that I could save $10 a month by making payments through a bank account rather than a card. I went to the website, and it wanted my bank account info, so I put all my stuff in and on the consent sections it wanted me to consent to sharing ALLLLLLL of my bank account with Xfinity. Not just taking out my payment which is fine, but it wanted access to all of my balances and transaction history. Like WHYYYYY?! So, I canceled that and did not do it. Super annoying, Xfinity you have no business trying to get access to all of my bank account information. You want the info to take out a payment, sure I get it. But the rest is an invasion of privacy, none of your business, and not needed for payment purposes. I DON'T LIKE IT!

user_bo7q54 I completely hear your concerns, and I understand why those terms felt like an overstep. At Xfinity, we use a secure third-party service to verify bank accounts for the $10 Autopay discount.

The "transaction and balance" language is a standard disclosure for the verification process to confirm the account is active and prevent returned payment fees. We don’t monitor your daily spending; it’s simply a one-time "handshake" to validate the account. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
