Adjusting or Canceling Service 27+ years
Since August, we have been back and forth with Xfinity agents/supervisors on line and on the phone. We are retired and trying to scale back our costs. We were paying over $250 a month for services we didn't use (landline, second TV, channels we didn't use). In August, we were told we would have a new plan that removed the services we didn't need/want and that our bill would be $211--if we set up Auto Pay. We were never told there was a $150 one time fee for the autopay (NEVER had to pay any fee for autopay anywhere else). The auto pay came out and it was $345--with a landline, second TV box, and premium charges for services we do not use. Nothing had been changed except for the additional $150 fee.
After 6+ hours with Xfinity, we finally got a supervisor to promise us this: Removal of the landline and second TV box. A reduction in the channels on our TV WITH additional Disney+ (including Hulu and ESPN). All for $192 per month. she couldn't do anything about the $345 except to apply a credit to our next bill, making it an estimated $27 (and then $192 per month).
Well, approximately 10 days ago, we were 'auto pay' charged $354 ($9 more that the first auto pay). We have been trying to get answers from Xfinity since then. I have even posted on this forum, been contacted by someone at Xfinity as to why I gave them Zeros (0) on their 'customer satisfaction' survey, and a 'corporate-sounding' response to my reasoning.
I just spoke to someone on line (agent #1575) that tried to sell me a 'guaranteed 3 year protection plan' for $99 a month and would not tell me how to speak to someone about my issue. She said we needed to speak to the 'provider', she was just the 'solution' side of things. She couldn't tell me who the provider is.
We want to settle any financial concerns before we cut ties with Xfinity and find another provider. I fear that once we cancel our service, we will be 'out' close to $800. Not a good thing for a couple of retired folk.
I have screen shots, transcripts, and recorded voice records if I need them.
