Bridge mode in XER10 Please

Before I signed up for Comcast I specifically asked if I could have the modem in bridge mode and was assured it was possible. Fast forward to yesterday when the service was installed and much to my chagrin, after the XER10 was activated, that option was no longer available in admin, nor in the app, and support can't turn it on remotely either. I have my own firewall and networking at my house and I don't need the double NATing. ZCan someone please get this fixed?

Good morning @robn1971 We do apologize for any frustration. At this time, the XER10 does not support bridge mode. While I will be sure to share your feedback, there is currently no ETA on when or if this feature will be available.

What about supporting direct connection to the onu or providing a different gateway that does support bridge mode? There are many forums posts complaining about this issue and no good response from Xfinity.

Great question, user_ix25z9! You can read more about using Bridge mode on your wireless gateway here

That does not answer the question. Try again

user_ix25z9, The ONU must be directly connected to the XER10 using the WAN port without any Ethernet hub or switch in between, since it does not currently support bridge mode. To see if another modem model will work for your location, I will have to review the account. To get started, please send us a direct message with your first/last name and full address. You can start by clicking the "direct message" icon in the upper right page of our forum page. Once you click on that, input our shared handle Xfinity Support to send us a direct message.

This is insane.  I'm on my 3rd "tech" over a 4 hour period.  I got tired of them telling me they "unlocked bridge mode" just for nothing to change on my end, so I started searching and found this conversation.  This is beyond frustrating.

Hello @user_tgkabn, are you still having issues putting your modem on bridge mode?

I am having exactly the same issue, this is absurd.  Somebody needs to *at least* train your support and technical staff to know that they XER10 does not support bridged mode.  I too was assured that I could have bridged mode, I put in the notes specifically that I needed bridged mode when I ordered service, and the techs who came to install my service yesterday also said that bridged mode was possible.  However, as may not surprise anyone with an XER10, of course it DOESN'T.

I absolutely require bridged mode for my work, so if I can't get bridged mode in some fashion then y'all can keep your [Edited: "Profanity"] service.

Greetings, @user_zhd57c! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with the XER10, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

If your location has an ONU 2-Box Fiber setup, your only option for running in bridge mode would be with an XB7. I completely understand your frustration surrounding the XER10. This is still a very new device that is not widely available yet, so many of us are still learning new things about it. I apologize for the previous misunderstandings. Please let us know if you would like to try swapping your XER10 for an XB7. We are here for your support.

Yes, I NEED an XB7 if that's the way to get bridged mode.  As I said, I absolutely require it for my work.

Did you want to swap out the modems at a local service center? @user_zhd57c

Given that I was repeatedly mislead about the service that was being delivered, I would vastly prefer that you have a tech bring it ASAP.  Lying to me several times and then inconveniencing me in order to get what I was told I'd get in the first place seems like poor practice.

There is a fee to have a technician bring it to your home. When we put in an order there may be a fee and there is a chance that the warehouse will not have an XB7 and send you a modem that will work for your tier of services. To make sure that you get the modem you want it is best to visit the store. You will need to return the current modem therefore you can complete that at the same time @user_zhd57c
