Cable Bury Depth

I switched to Xfinity internet a little less than 2 years ago and, as part of that, a cable had to be run from the utility box in my front yard to the back of my house. Today, I noticed that the orange cable is exposed in an area that lost its grass cover recently. This means that it was only buried about 1-2" below the grass layer. Is this right? How deep should it be buried according to Xfinity policies and county/city/state codes? I live in Potterville Michigan and am in Eaton County if that helps.

JustinD1 Good afternoon! Thank you for reaching out to our Xfinity Forums Team regarding your cable line. Typically, cable lines are buried between 6-18 inches. It can vary depending on the area. Since it's coming up, I'd be happy to help you get a work order ticket to have it reburied. When you get a moment, can you please send a Direct Message with your name, and service address?

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

There is a VERY long delay between our messages. Can you confirm that we are still connected through the chat? And I just need a very simple question answered: "How deep should the cable be buried?"

@JustinD1 We appreciate your patience. With our platform, there can be times were there is a bit longer wait in response times, as we aren't a traditional chat; similar to email. I will continue to assist you in DM. Thank you for hanging in there with us!
