Cancel equipment 'rental' fee

I have made this request at least four times using the app to chat with an agent, and four times I have been promised it would be done. There has been a $34.16 amount on my bill for months which I am not going to pay. It was for a router rental that a tech said would solve a connection problem, and if it didn't I could return the equipment at no charge. It did not solve the problem, and I promptly returned the equipment. Remove the charge from my account, and stop sending me reminders about the bogus 'overdue' amount. I will never pay it, and I am one more annoying email away from canceling my cable and internet service altogether and switching to CenturyLink and Roku.
