Cannot activate free Peacock reward – email already has Peacock account

I am eligible for Peacock through my Xfinity reward. When I try to activate it, Peacock says that an account already exists with my email address. I want to use my Xfinity reward with Peacock, but I cannot complete the activation.  Peacock says my xfinity account is already linked to another Peacock account.  Error PPG-0017-16cf755.  Please find the Peacock account  and reset/unlink it so I can activate my Xfinity Peacock benefit.
