data usage

I need to understand why my data usage is running so high. I have two tvs both using roku sticks. I am the only user and my data usage runs in the 650 - 800 range, however, this month I am at 965. How many hours of tv viewing or internet usage would have these kinds of numbers. My tv is never on 24 hours and I probably average 8 to 10 hours a day. I never have both tvs on at the same time. I called xfinity support over the weekend and they walked me through changing my wifi username and password. When I shut down my tv, should I be exiting out of my streaming service and bringing the tv back to the roku home screen each time? Please advise.

Good Morning, @noespn2xre03059! Thank you so much taking the time to reach out to us here on the Xfinity Forums! That would truly depend on what you are streaming and at what definition. 4K UHD can take upwards of  3- 14 gbs per hour of streaming. I would recommend tracking your device data usage following the steps here https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/data-usage-usage-history if you are renting an Xfinity modem. When shutting down the TV for the night, I would close out of the program you were watching at minimum to completely stop the stream.
