Enhanced Upload Speeds

Is the recent announcement expanding the Enhanced Speed Markets or is this now going to be available to all?  How can we get a timeline and support?  I have been on a Gig Plus plan for years but still only have 35 upload which is very limiting especially with new provider coming to market.

Hey there, @user_yf4quy, thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding those new upload speeds. I would be happy to check on the serviceability in your area and provide you with more details.

I just received an email today from Xfinity with the subject line: “We just increased your upload speeds.“ The body of the email said my upload speed was increased by 75%. So if you are eligible, you should have received or will receive an email notification. However, I just did a speed test and haven’t noticed any increase.

I'm situated between Baltimore, Wash. D.C. and Frederick, MD. Every time I talked to Xfinity they say I am in an enhanced speed area. So, I purchased and activated a new modem to get the better upload speeds (Arris S34).  But since installing, Xfinity is now telling me enhanced speeds may not be activated in my area, yet. Can you check and please activate it?  35-40 Mbps up speeds is antiquated. :(

AJSurfs Good morning. We are happy to check on the mid split upgrade status. Unfortunately, there is not a way to establish a timeline or ETA on those upgrades, but we can check if the speeds are an option at this time.

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a Direct message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message" icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears.

Hi,

I can tell the Enhanced Speeds are available at homes just a few hundred feet from my home.  That footprint hasn't changed in 12 months.  I'm so close, but sooo far away.  Is there a reason that I'm surrounded (yes, I've checked the Xfinity.com speeds) and still a chunk of my area does not have the enhanced speeds.  We have another fiber provider in the area that is a few bucks more a month and I'm seriously considering switching because of the lousy upload speeds. . . I'm on 1100 down and 40(cough, grunt groan) upload speeds.

It just seems odd that the roll-out has moved to homes to the north (very close), south (a few blocks away), east (a mile or more away), and west (across a major highway away) and then just stalled for months.

How can I tell if Xfinity will bump my upload speeds anytime soon?  If they don't, it may be worth moving to the fiber provider.

Thanks.
