FORMAL ESCALATION REQUEST – Stuck Backend Hotspot Deactivation / Persistent App-Requirement Loop
Dear Xfinity Corporate Digital Care Team, [1]
My home internet service is active and working normally, but my public Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspot access is broken.
I was previously informed by Xfinity that my public hotspot access was incorrectly deactivated on the backend. I was told it would take up to 48 hours to automatically reactivate, but that time has passed and it is still not working. Whenever I try to log into a public hotspot, I get the error message: "Your Xfinity Internet Service is not Active."
Because my home internet is completely fine, it looks like the incorrect deactivation flag is stuck on my profile. I am requesting a formal escalation to a corporate representative or Tier 2 technician to manually refresh my account entitlements and re-provision my profile to restore my hotspot access. [1]
When I call, I get repeated front-line people telling me there is nothing wrong with my account, that it was refreshed and is working fine now, and that getting the Xfinity App is the sole solution to my problems. It is not necessary to get the Xfinity App to use an open public Wi-Fi hotspot, and I do not have the internet access required to download it anyway. The basic modem refreshes that front-line agents are running do not fix this. The issue is a stuck profile flag on the backend authentication servers that requires Tier 2 or Advanced Wireless support to re-provision.
Please have an official corporate representative reply so we can open a secure Direct Message to clear this backend flag. [1]
Thank you.
