Going on four weeks without service, phantom equipment, a botched activation, and cancelled tech appointments.

I transferred my service from Pennsylvania to MD in the middle of June. It is now July 15th and I still do not have working internet. Here is the complete timeline, and I have chat transcripts for every single item below.

June 27: Chat agent determines my existing gateway is not compatible with my new address and places a replacement equipment order. I was not told this beforehand when I put in the moving notification. I am told there is no charge and it will arrive in a few days.

June 30: The package arrives. It is a small bubble mailer containing one coaxial cable. No modem. FedEx confirms one small envelope was shipped. A second agent that evening tells me a separate modem order is still coming.

July 10: After nothing arrives all week, a third agent tells me there never was a second order and the modem was supposedly inside that little envelope. He arranges a store pickup and I drive to the Jessup store that evening to get an XB6 gateway in person.

July 10, evening: The gateway will not activate. After hours of troubleshooting, an agent named Vishal discovers the store never actually added the gateway to my account. He adds it and starts activation, and the gateway reaches the blinking white activation stage for the first time. The chat times out while I am waiting, a second agent takes over, restarts the gateway mid-activation, and it never recovers. That agent then tells me my wall outlet is faulty and schedules a technician. For the record, that same outlet had carried the device to the activation stage an hour earlier, and the Xfinity portal itself showed "You're online" later that night. He also told me my problems might be "preliminary effects" of an outage scheduled for July 13th, three days in the future. A third agent that night admitted chat support has no access to connection logs or signal levels at all.

Mid-week: My technician appointment was cancelled with no notice, no call, no email, and no explanation. I only found out by checking. I had to contact support again to rebook it.

July 15, today: The rebooked appointment window was 12:00 to 2:00. I arranged to be home from work for it. Midway through the window, the appointment section on the website stopped displaying my appointment entirely, while the chat assistant claimed it was confirmed. Given that the last appointment silently vanished, I have no confidence anyone is coming.

I have been a customer in two states. I did everything right here: I put in the move request in advance, I followed every instruction, I power cycled, factory reset, tested both outlets, and kept records of everything. In return I have had three weeks without service, a phantom equipment shipment, contradictory answers from every agent, an activation that was working until support itself broke it, an invented outlet diagnosis, a fictional outage, and appointments that disappear without notice.

What I am asking for:
1. Credits for every day without service since the move, and the missed appointment credit if today's window is missed.
2. Someone from the corporate escalation team to take ownership of this account until there is a solid white light on my gateway and traffic passing.
3. An explanation of why my first technician appointment was cancelled, and confirmation that today's actually exists.

I have all of the chat transcripts and screenshots of everything described above and will happily provide them by DM along with my account details.

Good morning. I’m really sorry for everything you’ve been through with this move and activation process. I can completely understand why you’re frustrated after doing everything you were asked to do, keeping detailed records, and still being without working internet weeks later. The incorrect equipment shipment, conflicting information, cancelled appointment, and activation issues are absolutely not the experience we want for you. I’d like to take a closer look into the account, equipment history, appointment status, and available credit options. While I can’t guarantee a specific credit amount until the account is reviewed, we can absolutely investigate the time without service, the missed/cancelled appointment concern, and whether an escalation is needed to ensure this is owned through resolution. Please send us a DM with your full first and last name, the complete service address in Maryland, and any screenshots or chat transcripts you’d like us to review. Once we have the account pulled up, we can confirm whether today’s appointment is still active, review why the previous appointment was cancelled if that information is available, and determine the best path to get your gateway activated and your service working.I truly apologize for the inconvenience, the time you’ve lost, and the lack of clear ownership up to this point. Thank you for laying out the timeline so clearly it helps us understand exactly what happened and where we need to focus. We’ll do everything we can to help get this moving in the right direction. 💙
