Hardwired Internet connection dropping several times a day

I have been having an issue where my computer is hardwired into my modem and some days i drop several times a day and others only once or twice but its very frustrating because I work from home and are in and out meetings all day. the rest of the house and my phone are hooked to wifi and do not drop at all but only my work computer drops when I am hardwired in... if i run on wifi I do not drop at all but i am required to be hardwired in for work. Its annoying and i spoke with comcast and they told me to update my modem which i did and even replaced my ethernet cable and still no improvement I have tried to talk to them and they told me it all catches out on their end.. its a round and round circle. If i had verizon in my area I would leave comcast and go with them.

melissam06 I also work from home and have to be hardwired in, so I get where you are coming from. Since all services are working via WiFi and you already replaced our equipment and the cable it sounds like the issue is related to your work PC/laptop. I would reach out to your work IT and see what they can do to help.

Hi,

I have reached out to my IT team and they ran some tests on my computer and stated it is not related to my computer and has to do with my internet service

We are certainly more than happy to assist with some troubleshooting. I will need some additional information.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window and press Enter to send it.
