How to Renew Student Promotion Before It Expires?

Hi Xfinity Support,

I currently have a 2-year student promotion which is ending soon. When I first signed up, I was told that I could renew the promotion if I’m still a student at the time of renewal. I’m still actively enrolled as a student and would like to continue with the student offer if possible.

Can you please let me know:

  • How I can renew or reverify my student status?

  • Is there a specific link or form I need to complete?

  • Should I speak to someone in person at an Xfinity store?

  • Or is there a contact person or team I can reach out to?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

The ONLY way to fix this is disconnect and shut off your Xfinity services for 90 days, and then you will be able to sign up as a new customer after that...because then you won't be an existing customer. When you visit https://www.xfinity.com/student and successfully verify student status through SheerID, you will be redirected to sign up for the plan...BUT if you are existing customer, the plan wont' even show up to add it to your cart.

Most other internet carriers also have a student plan, so you will also be on one during the 90 days away from Xfinity. Who knows, maybe you'll end up liking them better and not have to come back to Xfinity ever again.

Contacting Xfinity for help won't fix it. Just put in the disconnect request and skip wasting the time. I've been arguing all weekend with chat reps about it because 8 days ago a chat rep told me he was going to put me on a temporary plan, and then submit a ticket that would get me on the student plan within 7 days. That was just a big fat lie though. The chat reps lie, lie, lie, and lie even more. They genuinely insult you and don't care at all. Most unprofessional employees I've ever encountered anywhere.
