How to tell if a call/voicemail "from" Xfinity is legitimate and not phishing

I received a call from area code 659 this morning.  I let it go to voicemail as I don't know anyone from Alabama - I live on the opposite coast.  The robotic voice in the voicemail said my current discount for Xfinity service is canceled and wanted me to call back and upgrade my plan.  This seemed bogus enough that I assume it was a badly executed phising attempt, but want to make sure.

Was this really a legitimate Xfinity call?  I do not recall getting any sort of discount or promotional deal from Xfinity  and just want to make sure.  I did log in to xfinity.com and it did not say anything about my "deal" expiring.

Thank you for reaching out to us here @wqool. That call would not have been made through us with that area code. Any promotional discounts you have on the account would show the expiration date on that on your monthly bill as well as your account information on the Xfinity app.

Thank you!  Better safe than sorry.  Glad my bogosity-meter was working overtime today.
