Internet question and customer support complaint

I posted earlier, but it seems to have disappeared.  I am considering upgrading internet and have been trying to get some answers, unsuccessfully.  When looking at the options online, the price for 1 year vs 5 year is the same, respectively, for each speed option, except 2 gig.  The 5 year plan is $15 per month more than the 1 year option.  I understand there is some potential hedge against higher costs by selecting the 5 year plan, but over 20% higher, when the other plans are the same, seems excessive.  Does anyone know why this is the pricing model?  As for the complaint, it would be so nice to talk to an agent that listens to what you ask, and provides simple and on point answers.  I asked about upgrading internet, but immediately, the agent tried to sell me mobile phone plans.  I said I was not interested, but instead of focusing on internet, they then asked who my carrier was, how much I paid, and why I was not interested in switching.  I asked for options on internet, and instead of answering the question, they sent me an order.  It seems all they want to do is sell instead of providing support.

Vito22 Good morning! We appreciate you reaching out to our Xfinity Forums Community regarding the 2 Gig plan interest. In most cases, the 5 year plan includes the modem rental, and unlimited data. Some of our 1 year plans include the modem rental, it just depends on what promotion we are running at the time. I'd be happy to take a closer look at your account, and assist you with your inquiry on the 2 Gig option. To begin, can you please send a Direct Message with your name, and service address?

Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
Click the "New message" (pen and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
A "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it
