Internet usages jacked up

Internet data usage is unusually high

I have been an xfinity internet customer for over 2 years. I have never paid attention to my internet data since I am threatened i will pay more exceed the 1.2TB cap, until june of this year it was 800 all of a sudden it is 1000 and sept my internet was out and its over 1200 for Oct.   There are no new devices added to my network recently and have been using the internet same as always. In fact one less user.   I started to monitor my internet data usage with my wifi router and compared it with the xfinity meter. I found the xfinity meter number is shockingly inflated. a live xfinity agent told me I get one month pass.  

This data overage has caused us a lot inconvenience and my family. I hope xfinity can provide a clear explanation and solution.
P.S. We have no need or interest in the unlimited data plan based on our normal use.

I am so glad you posted this as well. I went to the Xfinity store and requested an official explanation because my data has increased DOUBLE with no new connected devices. The rep told me they can't see current usage and we maintained around 400 GB/month so wasn't sure for large increase. Im pretty sure I know why... Another sales gimmick to purchase their unnecessary unlimited data plan. This is the only ISP that has put a cap on internet data in my life! Shady business practices as usual in this country.
