Loud noise from Xfinity XB6

Hi, I have a XB6 modem that is pretty noisy. This has been going on for months and we are very tired of that constant noise. Tried restarting, blowing with a fan and it is not in a closed storage or anything like that. What should I do? Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out to our team here. That is definitely an issue we can assist you with from here. You can always swap that modem out for a new device at any Xfinity service center. We can also get a replacement sent out from here for you if needed.

@XfinityJohnG​ Thank you for your quick response. I read the forum a little bit more after I posted and saw that this is a common issue with this model. When I go to a Xfinity store, can I ask for a different model? Thanks again for your time.

@user_ii7m9w Great question, yes you can ask for a different gateway. One will be provided that matches the speed tier in which you subscribe to.
