My landlord has NOT installed a coax cable port and Prohibits installation of one
Hi, I just got Xfinity service the other day and I'm trying to set up the gateway and now I simply can't do so due to not having anywhere to hook up the coax cable for the router from Xfinity. What can I do? Different kind of gateway? Router? Or do I just request a refund and go somewhere else?

Hi there @user_3y4nsl , and welcome to Xfinity. I’m really sorry you're running into this right after starting service. I can absolutely understand how frustrating it must be to receive your equipment, be ready to get connected, and then discover you don't have a coax outlet available and aren't permitted to install one. Unfortunately, Xfinity Internet service requires an active coax connection to provide service to the gateway. If your landlord prohibits the installation of a coax outlet and there is no existing outlet available, that can make activating the service difficult. Before considering cancellation, it may be worth checking whether there is an existing coax connection elsewhere in the property, or if there are any approved options your landlord would allow for activation. If no connection can be provided, we can certainly review your account and discuss the available options, including equipment return and any applicable refund eligibility. I know this isn't the welcome experience you were hoping for, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.❤️
