Need to talk to corporate about property damage, cant get anyone to help get the run around
On March 10, 2026, Springfield, Illinois experienced a severe lightning storm. The next morning, we discovered that our modem and two cable boxes had been damaged by a surge that should have been prevented with proper grounding.
We visited the Xfinity store three times to obtain replacement equipment. One cable box was restored, but the living room box required a technician visit. During that visit, the technician installed a grounding device—confirming that one had not been present before. I have video documentation of this installation and can provide it upon request.
.
In addition to the modem and cable boxes, the surge also damaged:
- An HDMI output on our living room Soni Bravia TV
- Our Lift Mastergarage door opener
- A sony sound bar
- My personal MSI computer
These damages occurred as a direct result of the cable line not being grounded.
How do I get ahold of anyone. I have tried to call, tried chatting, all I get is the run around.
