Network Security

Had a "Xfinity" rep call me saying someone was trying to get into my network and that my modem settings were set to low. I don't touch my modem and I read Xfinity won't initiate the call for such things like network security. Idk what to think. Scam? Legit?

Such calls are almost always scams. Hopefully an employee will be along to confirm.

@BruceW i hope so. I didn't give any personal info. Just told him I don't mess with my modem and that this isn't a good time.

Thanks for sharing with us that you received this call, @user_np1vmy! This is a scam call that our teams are aware of and our Customer Security Assurance team works to prevent things like this from happening.

They provide an Alerts page with any scams we are aware of. If you search “Comcast CSA” the first link that appears should be our Report Abuse site. On the Report Abuse site, the “Alerts” section can be navigated to by selecting “Alerts” in the top left of the page.
