New box??
Why did I just receive an unidentified black box to be connected to our hdmi port?? The only info on it is XG2v2-P. I have no clue and there is no other information.

Thanks for reaching out to you, that's an Xfinity X1 cable companion box https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-hub-vs-companion-box , If you have older cable boxes you may have been sent one to upgrade to that gives you access to our new X1 platform and all the xfinity apps that come along with the X1 platform.
If you didn't order it and don't need one you can simply return it to any local Xfinity store or UPS location
