New gateway very slow

I made the mistake of "upgrading"  my equipment.  Is there any way to get old equipment back?

Concern moved here to the Customer Service help section for greater exposure to Comcast corporate employees (The Digital Care Team) for assistance.

Hi user_1zevbz, thanks for visiting our Xfinity Forum. We appreciate you being a customer with us, and my team is here to support you. To confirm, have you already returned the old Gateway? Also, did you get the new Gateway because of an internet speed change?

We look forward to assisting you!

Yes I already returned the old gateway.  I got the new gateway because I fell for the "faster speeds" scam.

Okay @user_1zevbz, I would like to take a look at your account to see what speeds you currently have, and see if you can switch back to the old Gateway. We will also ensure you have the speeds/plan that best suits you and your household. Please send us a Direct Message to better assist you! Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
 • Click "Sign In" if necessary
 • Click the "Direct Message icon” (upper right corner of this page)
 • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
 • Type "Xfinity Support" in the To line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
 • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
 • Press Enter to send your message
