Paramount plus with Showtime

I also have the same problem...

Paramount+ and showtime

I have Paramount+ with showtime as part of my xfinity cable package. When I go to Paramount plus its telling me to upgrade my plan to paramount+ with showtime...if I already have it through xfinity why do I have to pay Paramount+ 12.99 a month to have showtime with it, when I already pay for it on xfinity. Paramount+ shows a link to sign in with your tv provider, however Xfinity or comcast isn't listed as an option. How do I get paramount+ with showtime to watch shows without paying twice for what I'm already paying for!

@user_ja65sw, hello! Thank you for bringing your issue to us. At this time, our contract with Paramount does not include Paramount+ access. Your subscription includes the channels and Xfinity On Demand content viewable through cable boxes and Xfinity Stream.

Problem is you label it as Paramount +.  It is misleading advertisement!

@user_ja65sw, I get where you are coming from. We have no control over what content providers decide to call their services. For that, you would need to submit feedback to Paramount itself.

And you know what that’s a [Edited - Language] excuse.  We pay over $300 a month on cable that’s supposed to have the premium channels which one is sho / paramount , we should be able to watch all the shows and series that is offered on that channel/network what ever you want to call it. Don’t give some [Edited - Language] excuse about 3rd party billing.  [Edited - Inflammatory].

You are spot on. Xfinity must provide that disclaimer up front and in bold type.  Shady to say the least.

Then what is https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/manage-paramount-plus-subscription referring to?

Or https://help.paramountplus.com/s/article/PD-How-can-I-stream-Paramount+-on-my-Xfinity-device?

Hey, @BruceW. Those articles refer to pass-through billing. By signing up through a 3rd party's app on Xfinity platforms, we can be authorized as a payment method for some services. This is not an Xfinity service, but it does show on your Xfinity bill.

The Paramount+ with Showtime premium channel is different, even though it has the same name. This is often included in grandfathered plans, or can be added and removed via the "Manage Channels" app on X1 or online. It can also be subscribed to by tuning into a Showtime channel and following the menu prompts. https://www.xfinity.com/learn/digital-cable-tv/premium-channels/paramount-plus-with-showtime

So - in plain english, despite my grandfathered plan showing that I have Paramount plus with Showtime I still have to subscribe and pay an addition fee to access all the content on Paramount Plus- Am I correct? - if so it seems like false advertising

user_a29628 At this time, your Showtime/XFINITY subscription does not provide access to the Paramount Plus app. You can view Showtime content through the XFINITY Stream app and through your X1 cable box. We can only provide the content that is provided to us so for shows and movies that are missing from Showtime and only viewable through the Paramount Plus app, you would need to subscribe through the app or their website. Providing a login for Paramount Plus is a highly requested item, and we will forward this request to our app teams for review. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
