remote modem reset

I cannot find the modem reset button at xfinity.com anymore. Can I still send my modem a reset command when I'm away from home?

Hi there @sean451!  Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to Xfinity Support here on our Community Forum!  We are so glad to hear from you and happy to help in any way that we can.  You should be able to complete basic troubleshooting steps online at xfinity.com or by using our Xfinity app.  If you are unable to find that function online, you can always run signals out to your modem using the Xfinity app.

In the past with ATT and Cox a remote reset from the internet provider often solved our connectivity problem. 
Xfinity refuses to allow me to request this by having no agent to speak to.  The outage map shows no other home out in our area.

Hello user_rxf93k you can self-troubleshoot and send signals to your devices using the Xfinity App. I've used this on numerous occasions for both my cable equipment and internet modem.

My dad has no Internet service from Xfinity, but cable service is provided by his senior living community. He has voice service from Xifinity for his home phone. We have had to physically reset his voice modem yesterday and today. I did discover a voice modem reset online on Xfinity.com, but there is no option in the Xfinity mobile app. How can I  1) check the health of his modem and 2) reset his voice modem remotely if the need arises? He is 96 year old Luditte, and I live out of state. Any assistance you could offer will be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

user_u1y61z Thank you very much for reaching our help with troubleshooting your fathers home phone services. To make sure the Xfinity mobile app helps with our Xfinity cell phone services and is not at all connected to managing any of the home services like internet, tv, home phone, or our security features. To help manage the Xfinity voice services you would need to use the Xfinity app.  You would also need to have online access as a manager to help with troubleshooting options. Once in the Xfinity app, you will see tabs for each service connected to the account across the bottom of the screen.  There you can see the voice modem status as well as troubleshoot any issues including a reset of the modem remotely. This is also a great page to help with troubleshooting options and how to access them.
