Samsung S21 FE software update

Samsung has stopped supporting the S21, however, the S21 FE has a different cadence and will continue to be supported until January 2027. The last update I have is from March 21, 2026, but according to Verizon’s website, Samsung has released 3 additional software updates. Can someone from Xfinity please confirm that these updates have been released to Xfinity customers? And please don’t tell me to clear my cache. According to Samsung this function no longer exists as it happens automatically when the phone is restarted.

Good afternoon @user_lj12ja. Can you provide us some more details about what these software updates are for?

@XfinityRaf These are the system software updates, which also include the latest Android security patches.

Thank you for the clarification. You mentioned they are updates released by Samsung, so they should be released to the Samsung phones that are compatible.

My understanding of the process is that Google develops the Android operating system. When they have a new version ready, they send it to the various smartphone manufacturers (Samsung, etc.) for testing. Once an update completes testing, the manufacturer sends it to the various carriers (Xfinity, Verizon, etc.). They perform their own testing and then release it to their customers. Verizon does a great job of documenting each of their releases, while Xfinity leaves you in the dark. Samsung has released multiple updates for the S21 FE since March 2026, and while Verizon has released them to their customers, Xfinity has not. My fear is that Xfinity terminated support for all S21s back in March without realizing the S21 FE is on a different timeline and still receives support from Samsung. I’m hoping someone from Xfinity can tell us what their latest release is for the S21 FE and take the appropriate action if it’s not the latest from Samsung.

user_lj12ja Thank you for explaining the concern in detail. I completely understand why you’re looking for confirmation, especially since you’ve been able to find release information for other carriers. Unfortunately, the specific Xfinity Mobile software release information you’re requesting isn’t available to us here, so I’m unable to confirm whether the updates released by Samsung have been approved and distributed for the S21 FE. I’d rather be transparent about that than give you an answer I can’t verify. That said, I can connect you with our Xfinity Mobile Executive team to see if they have additional information about this software update. Could you please send our team a Direct Message with your name and service address? Our team can take a further look.
