Sunken Pedestrian Lid Installed in Active Driveway
To Xfinity Support, I am writing to urgently report a hazardous installation error on my property. Xfinity contractors installed a standard, pedestrian-rated green plastic utility box directly inside my active vehicle driveway. Furthermore, the box was intentionally or improperly installed sub-grade (sunken below the level of the driveway surface). This design choice has created a permanent structural pothole and an immediate trip and vehicle safety hazard. Standard plastic lids are absolutely not traffic-rated. Because it sits below the driveway level, every car tire that rolls over it drops down and impacts the plastic edges with extreme, uneven force. This puts the lid at risk of imminent collapse, which will damage my vehicle and destroy the utility lines underneath.Because Xfinity contractors created this liability by placing an incorrect, non-driveway-rated box directly in my vehicle path, I am requesting an expedited escalation to a local construction supervisor. This hazard needs to be resolved immediately—either by relocating the vault entirely outside of my driveway or upgrading it to a flush, heavy-duty, traffic-rated Tier 15/22 vault with a bolt-down steel or polymer concrete lid.I have photos available showing that the plastic lid sits below the driveway pavement and am ready to provide them to the handling coordinator.
