Unable to add my Comcast.net email to Apple Mail

I have been trying for days now to get my Comcast.net email added to Apple Mail.  I had to change my password because I was hacked.  My account still cannot be verified.  Says I have wrong user name and password which is untrue.  Help!

I can can access my comcast.net mail through your web server, without any issues.

@ajtrevi You may need to reset their Xfinity ID password at Xfinity.com/password. After resetting their Xfinity ID password, you will also need to ensure the password stored in the third-party email program is updated to the new Xfinity ID password to continue sending and receiving emails. 

 

Is also want to include instructions to set up email on third party email programs in case some changes are preventing you from getting emails through Apple mail:

 

 

To set up your Xfinity Email on a third-party email program, first ensure that access to third-party programs is enabled in your Xfinity Email settings. Then, use the following settings:

  • Incoming Mail Server: imap.comcast.net (Port 993 with SSL ON)
  • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.comcast.net (Port 587 or 465 with TLS/SSL)
  • Authentication: Your Comcast.net email address.

For specific instructions, select your email program type from the provided list. Remember, using third-party programs may expose your credentials to risks.

@XfinityThomasC​ I decided to try one more time before responding to your reply.  So, now after three days of trying, and without changing any of the settings that you have given me to me above, I was able to add the account.  Very curious indeed!
